Tangerang, July 9, 2025 — The latest installment in the Jurassic World franchise, titled Jurassic World: Extinction, began screening in Indonesian cinemas on Friday (July 4) and quickly drew crowds. Long lines were seen at theaters in Jakarta and other major cities from the opening day.
The film revisits the premise of a world where humans must coexist with dinosaurs following the events of the previous movie. Directed by Colin Trevorrow, Extinction continues a storyline that began decades ago with the original Jurassic Park.
While many people came to watch out of loyalty to the series, some viewers admitted they were hoping for something different this time.
“The last film was full of running and chasing scenes — I hope this one actually has more of a story,” said Rani.
Others are waiting to see whether the film provides a clearer resolution to the long-running conflict and better character development.
Jurassic World: Extinction is now showing across major cinema networks nationwide throughout the month.
